Schöner (ent)packen unter OS X mit Rucksack + Gewinnspiel

Rucksack ist ein zunächst recht unscheinbares kleines Tool der österreichischen Softwareschmiede Incredible Bee, die mit Renamer schon einen durchaus bekannten Schützling vorweisen können.

Eigentlich, und das ist das Gute daran, macht Rucksack genau das, was es soll: Es komprimiert und dekomprimiert Dateien unter OS X. Dabei unterstützt es alle gängigen Formate, die einem auf dem Mac so in die Quere kommen können. Der Vorteil gegenüber der von Apple mitgebrachten Lösung innerhalb von OS X, ist die deutlich höhere Geschwindigkeit, mit der Rucksack zur Tat schreitet; die sucht nämlich ihres Gleichen. Dabei stellen auch gesplittete Archive kein Problem dar. Einzig allein könnte man die Unterstützung von Apple Script vermissen.

Für $19 bekommt man eine durchaus respektable Applikation, die zwar recht spartanisch erscheint, aber ihre Stärken dann ausspielt, wenn sie gebraucht werden.
